Prototype Description:
The Gunderson 6,580 cubic foot high-cube covered hopper car is
currently one of the most efficient in the industry for the transport
of Dried Distiller’s Grain (DDG), designed for high volumetric
efficiency. The car has over 95 cubic feet of volume per linear foot,
30 inch opening to economize the loading process, larger outlet
gates (54” x 43”) for faster unloading.

The phase 2 cars have cutout end panels and a short side sill
with a separate jack pad. There are 17 running board supports
and 15 side panels and 4 rows of side stiffners.
